You Are Beautiful is a decade-long endeavor promoting that everyone is beautiful. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the exhibition As You Are: A Decade of You Are Beautiful, was held at Chicago's Green Exchange. Love Lettered, Andy's installation at the opening, invited participants to share their name, or the name of someone special in their lives to be lettered over a one color silk-screen print on the spot. Through this interactive process, they were connected to the You Are Beautiful message through the artistic employment of brush, ink and paper. The participants were invited to share their print with the world via Instagram, adding a hashtag of #lovelettered to their photo.

The main components of the stationery were hand lettered.

Over the course of the evening, nearly 100 prints were produced.​

Pioneer Restoration is a 24 hour emergency response construction company based in Redmond, Oregon. They assist victims of fire, water and storm damage with craftsmanship and good 'ol fashioned hard work.

The Chicago Union Giants were one of Chicago's finest Negro League baseball teams, playing from 1901-1904. A custom lettered uniform was designed for a baseball club playing in present day Union Park on Chicago's west-side, paying homage to a historical team in bygone fashion. 

The rebranding of Lakemount Worship Centre, based in Ontario, Canada, included the execution of a brand icon, custom logotype, signage and business cards for the organization's staff. 

Roya Jade Photography specializes in weddings and portraits, emphasizing the unique moments that characterize a person's special day. An identity system, complete with custom logotype, watermarks and appropriate stationery elements, conveys Roya's intimate approach to portraiture.

The Leo Burnett Group wanted a timeless holiday card to share with their corporate family. This custom lettered piece was printed by Hallmark in a one-color silver foil ink.

Mama Francesca Cheese is a family established and operated cheese company. When the Dept. of Design was asked to redesign the brand, these signatures were developed to establish a heart and soul for the packaging.

MERG is the Leo Burnett Group's Multicultural Employee Resource Group, created to celebrate and advance diversity, both within and outside the company. MERG concentrates on building mentoring programs, adding internships and strengthening professional development within the agency.

The 2012 ANA Masters of Marketing dinner, co-hosted by Leo Burnett, Adweek, and Gannett merited a unique hand lettered invitation. Letter-pressed with a blind emboss and spot varnish, Leo spared no production expense creating an invitation as premium as the event itself.

New Express is a Muffler & Brake shop in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood. Andy developed and hand-lettered the type, which he painted onto the shop's building wall.

Typefight, a head-to-head type competition between design peers, featured Andy's hand-lettered D, which won the battle of the week. 

The Everywhere Project is a collaboration of designers and illustrators designing traveling luggage labels paying tribute to every location featured in Johnny Cash's classic folk song "I've Been Everywhere". This sticker represents Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, a small town just across Lake Winnebago from where Andy's dad grew up.

A collection of illustration pieces completed for various clients

Andy got married! His wedding invitations were designed to capture and pay homage to the playbills and newspapers of the 1930s and 1940s. Printed oversize on French speckletone, these poster invites were folded, sealed and stuffed with a postcard RSVP.

Each component was silk-screened, folded, trimmed and assembled by hand. For the convenience of his guests, a companion website was created to access wedding details.

Overcoat Management commissioned Andy to design the 2011 solo tour poster for The Grammy Award-winning artist, Markéta Irglová, from the Swell Season. Featured is the flower from the pomegranate plant, a recurring theme from Markéta's most recent album. The print is a three color silk-screen print on madero beach French speckletone 100# cover.

Rosa Loves is a nonprofit organization focused on impacting social change and providing financial support to those in need through the aid of apparel. Andy was approached to create a piece that would continue the next chapter of a success story. The first story was about Made (Mah-day), a seaweed farmer and fisherman who lives on Nusa Lembongan, a small Indonesian island. The writing on the outside of the shirt is an excerpt from a blog post written by Eric Hires while he was in Indonesia visiting Made. He wrote this the day after he told Made about the initial project, focused on raising money to buy him his own boat.

Andy's working line of greeting cards were created to share notes of encouragement, kindness and good will with friends and family. Rubber stamps were designed for the cards, envelopes and the card signature. Each is hand printed with love.

Andy was invited to contribute his perspective on WPA artwork for the Printervention Poster Exhibition presented in conjunction with Public Media Institute's Version Festival. His work was based on the concept of stewardship.

​Slowly is a collection of works that celebrates the creative process. During a time when hurried production takes precedence over the slow movement of an endeavor, it is essential to keep the appreciation of a craft alive. Beginning with an empty surface and ending with an inspired conclusion, each texture, layer and brushstroke validates the process of creation as being as equally momentous as the final work itself.

Andy contributed a painting to the You Are Beautiful show held at the Mission Cultural Center in San Francisco, CA. The piece was painted on panel and layered with 140# Arches watercolor paper.

"Forest of Stone" was created for the group show Downtown curated by Sam Rosen at the COOP in Chicago's River North neighborhood. 

Filmaker, Scott Visk, shot 'Tis the Spring, capturing Andy's painting process from raw canvas to completed piece.

When Ben + Veronica Sasso exchanged wedding vows, they wanted an inspirational piece to celebrate their new marriage. The artwork provided the backdrop for their union during their ceremony.

Typeforce III is the third annual typography infused show at Bridgeport's Co-Prosperity Sphere. Remembrance, A Study of Ghost Signs encapsulated the aesthetic of fading and disappearing sign-paintings in plexiglass, preserving them as important moments in our typographic history.

The show was curated by Public Media Institute + Firebelly Design.

Typeforce II is the second annual typography infused show at Bridgeport's Co-Prosperity Sphere. A light mobile of sorts, Savor Youth rotated and projected layered type, illustrations and textures onto the space's walls, evoking the sense of wonder, excitement and adventure that characterizes youth.
